Glen Mehrer, 63, of Armington, passed away 8:55 pm Monday, September 4, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born August 11, 1954 in Chester, IL to Larry Hudson and Leona Mehrer. He married Sally Greathouse on August 4, 1999, and she survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Angela (Ian) Hutchinson of Knoxville, TN; one son, Christopher (Kate) Mehrer of Chicago; step-children, John (Kelli) Greathouse of Minier, Kari (Brian) Slager of Hopedale, Stephanie (Josh) McCartney of Morton; seven grandchildren, Gabby, Kelsey, Ruger, Jack, Chloe, Rhys, and Ruby.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Glen was a truck driver for Antler Trucking for several years, retiring in 2007 due to illness.

He was an avid fan of Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Blackhawks. He enjoyed working out at the Hopedale Wellness Center and visiting and helping others.

Cremation has been accorded. A celebration of life service will be from 1:00 to 3:00 pm Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Hopedale Community Building. A private family grave side service will be at a later date in Orndorff Cemetery in Hopedale. Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Hopedale is handling the arrangements.
