Marilyn A. Hutchison, 87, of Hopedale, formerly of Delavan, passed away at 10:09 am Friday, December 29, 2017 at Hopedale Nursing Home.
She was born November 7, 1930 in Deer Creek to Frank and Letta M. Seeley Burden. She married Wayne Hutchison on November 25, 1948 in Green Valley, and he passed away August 1, 1994.
Surviving are one daughter, Lori (Ron) Griffin of Delavan; three sons, Ronald (Diane) Hutchison of Pekin, Kevin (Pam) Hutchison of Mascoutah, and Brad (Renee) Hutchison of Bloomington; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur (Shirley) Burden of Tremont and Carlisle (Ellen) Burden of Pekin; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Roger; two infant grandchildren, five brothers; and two sisters.
Marilyn worked for Community Care for five years.
She was a member of Dillon Mennonite Church, where she served as chorister, Sunday school teacher, and on its Mennonite Women Organization.
Marilyn was a gifted singer, where she sang for many weddings, funerals, and a variety of other church functions.
She served her church and Lord faithfully throughout the years and never missed an opportunity to witness to others.
Her funeral will be at 10:00 am Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Dillon Mennonite Church. Pastor Robert Nafziger will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Wednesday at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Delavan. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
